Introducing Rene Slovacek, a dedicated lead IT analyst whose career, inspired by the IT revolution of the 1980s, is driven by a passion for problem-solving.
“My IT journey began in the 1980s with the ZX Spectrum, a vintage piece of hardware that was revolutionary 40 years ago. With it, I felt I could create anything. I was captivated by the instant feedback I got from typing code directly into the machine, a remarkable feat for its time. My fascination for IT developed through an introductory class in primary school. Though simple, it was the perfect entry point into this new world. The more I learned, the more I wanted to continue and make it my career.
These early experiences laid the groundwork for my future. My daily tasks are diverse. Initially, I focus on creative problem-solving, brainstorming and research to design optimal solutions. During the development phase, I collaborate with developers, clarifying tasks and ensuring progress. Finally, I monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues and implement solutions. Currently I’m leading an internal project to track users’ work per project and improve our margin visibility. I love developing this kind of software. It’s like solving puzzles.
The dynamic and varied nature of my work is something I truly enjoy. It’s incredibly rewarding to deliver successful projects and see satisfied customers. I’m convinced we improve the lives of people and businesses by streamlining their daily operations. I’m proud of our successful projects and feel valued by my colleagues and team as a reliable problem-solver. Innovating and making a difference is very fulfilling.
Outside of work, I enjoy unwinding in a variety of ways. When the weather’s nice, I play golf. During the colder months, I recharge in the sauna. My favourite pastime though is glamping. I love exploring new places and take every opportunity to travel, particularly by car. Last year’s road trip through Crete was a highlight—the scenery, people, and food were all incredible. It’s the perfect getaway. I enjoyed it so much that I’m planning my 2025 adventure.”
